About Orchard End

Orchard End is a large, twelve-bedded residential home, set in 2.5 acres adjacent to the banks of the River Severn and only three miles from Gloucester.

The accommodation includes six individual bedrooms in the main house, with another six to be found in the adjacent bungalow. All bedrooms have television and telephone points and most have en suite facilities. There are two large recreational lounges and an independence training area.

The beautifully landscaped gardens – with an outdoor pool – offer a safe and stimulating environment for service users to enjoy the natural surroundings.

Our Philosophy

Our aim is to ensure that we enable individuals to live as fulfilling a life as possible in a safe, secure, warm and comfortable environment based around John O’Brien’s five accomplishments of Community Presence, Choice, Competence, Respect and Community Participation; this being in line with the four key principles of Rights, Independence, Choice and Inclusion.

Orchard End’s ultimate aim is to provide a service which is comprehensive and supportive and is made up of a range of services and facilities. This includes meeting the overall personal and health care needs and preferences of the individual through various activities that we are able to provide, both in-house and community-based. We also provide nutritious meals that take into consideration any special dietary needs and individual preferences.

Orchard End ensures that throughout we continuously uphold the individual’s dignity and privacy in relation to their overall well-being.

From M5, Junction 11

Follow signs for Gloucester A40
At the next roundabout follow signs for Ross-on-Wye A40
Keep following Ross-on-Wye signs and you will come to the Highnam Roundabout
Take the A48 toward Minsterworth and Chepstow
After approximately three miles you will enter Minsterworth, take the left turning, down Church Lane
Follow the road until you reach a single track lane on the right hand side. Proceed down the lane, veering left at the fork to enter Orchard End

From Gloucester City Centre

Take the A419 toward Ross-on-Wye
At the A40 roundabout take the first exit (A40) toward Ross-on-Wye
Keep following Ross-on-Wye signs and you will come to the Highnam Roundabout
Take the A48 toward Minsterworth and Chepstow
After approximately three miles you will enter Minsterworth, take the left turning, down Church Lane
Follow the road until you reach a single track lane on the right hand side. Proceed down the lane, veering left at the fork to enter Orchard End
