Orchard End registered for 12 is a large, detached home spaciously set in 2.5 acres of land adjacent to the banks of the River Severn and only three miles from Gloucester City Centre.
The accommodation is divided up into two buildings and includes six individual bedrooms in the main house, with another six in the adjacent bungalow. Most have en suite facilities. There are also two large recreational lounges and an independence training area.
Orchard End is a lively home which is specifically able to meet the needs of people with epilepsy and autism through the valued and excellent support of CLDT, the local GP and district nurse team in training and supporting our skilled staff team. We have busy and full activity programmes for our service users and have good links with the local colleges. We hold regular social events for family, friends and the local community which service users are fully involved with and have good communication and relationships with significant others through quarterly newsletters. We provide fun filled holidays for our service users both in the UK and abroad. We encourage independent living skills and support service users to reach their full potential and involve everybody living within the home, in caring for our grounds, producing hanging baskets and vegetables and herbs.
Our Philosophy
Each service user receives an individualised Person-Centred Programme of care, as well as a bespoke programme of Day Care activities. We also have our own in-house clinical psychology team who work alongside staff in assessing and devising appropriate interventions to address the emotional, psychological and behavioural needs of our service users.
We enable our service users to live as fulfilling a life as possible in a secure environment. We promote independence, choice and community integration. Our service users are encouraged to develop their personal skills in daily living, social skills, communication, education, decision making and future planning.
The service users have individually tailored plans of care which take a holistic approach to ensure all needs are met. Support and advice is provided whilst the right to dignity and respect is upheld at all times.
Orchard End’s ultimate aim is to provide a service which is comprehensive and supportive and is made up of a range of services and facilities. We also provide nutritious meals that take into consideration any special dietary needs and individual preferences. This includes meeting the overall personal and health care needs and preferences of the individual through various activities that we are able to provide, both in-house and community-based. The home has 2 vehicles which are used for a variety of recreational, educational trips and activities in the community.
